I had a friend listen to it and we found that the starter is hitting the fly wheel and making the noise, is it just a bad starter?

Make sure the starter isn't loose and make sure your engine is bolted securely to the transmission.

Pull the starter out and have a look at it then.

Pull the starter while it's running and see if the noise goes away. Be careful and don't put your fibers in the hole. And don't let positive cable contact any metal

Hey a thought..one of the starter bolts, I think its the top that screws forward? One of them if it's too long can hit the flywheel. Mine did it, the end of the bolt gets burnished, shiny. I just added washers.

The starter gear is actually whats hitting the flywheel while its idling until the rpm reaches 2000-2500
