96 sport, changing hi/low switch

96 sport, changing hi/low switch
I have a 96 sport, I'm pretty sure the hi/low beam switch, mounted in the column is bad. My tail lights and running lights will not turn on. Is there anything I should look for when changing it? Any tips or advice would be appreciated, thanks
