Default 96 Rear Bumper on a 97 XJ

I picked up a 97 XJ white in color, and the rear bumper is in bad shape dented, scratched, rusting etc. Locally I found a 96 rear bumper for $20 already white in color, now will this bolt right up? Any real changes in the bumper between 96 and 97? They look pretty similar, but I can't find a straight answer. Also my end caps are in good shape and I would be reusing them.

Thanks!

I know the body style changed, but the bumpers are a simple design and it looks like they are actually the same shape and follow the same lines. I know the end caps are different, but I plan on keeping my existing ones anyways.

I just glanced at a parts catalog they list different bumpers. Again not say it wont work. I'm curious to know if it does because that could be a fun mod... newer bumper on older chassis.

Yeah I know the part #'s are different, but I will probably go ahead and give it a shot. I am sure it will be close enough to fit.

I've wanted to put the new style rear end caps on my 95 but you'd have to cut the rear fender flares for it to fit and that's the deal killer.
