Ever since I got this particular '96 it often acts a bit weird in that upon opening either front doors, the hazard lights will flash for ~30 seconds ?
Ok, I could live with this, it happened probably about 25% of the time, however, today it started acting really weird in that the hazard lights would continually reset and the interior lights flash in unison, but the in this instance there was no way to stop them, even taking the key out.
Fuse locations in my '96 Operating manual bear no resemblance to whats in my PDC
I "Searched" and the 3 known problems identified are the Fuse, "combination Hazard/Indicator relay" or the "multi-function switch"
After locating and removing the Yellow Relay, cleaning and putting it back in, the symptoms have all gone away (at least for the moment), and I can now use the vehicle ( not really possible with Hazards on, as indicators dont overide them)..and battery would go flat if sitting unless I pulled a 40A fuse in PDC which also killed my headlights
I am presuming the "Hazard Fuse" must be one of those under the dash ?
Also, am I able to obtain a spare " combination Hazard/Indicator" relay as a new part ?
I have RHD vehicles, and could swap the relay if it gives me any more trouble
Luckily I have a few spare "multi-function" switches in my array of spares, as I suspect they are different for RHD/LHD vehicles ?
The "Relay Centre" info is also wrong...there are no " Empty's" on my relay board..it is full
The 95 FSM shows the exact same empty slots as your diagram. The one common link between some of the things you mentioned is ground 201. I would say the hazards coming on with the doors does sound a lot like an alarm system though.
At least this gorund point shouldn't be too difficult to get at to check.

Thanks very much bro..us RHD guys got to stick together
Is that G201 location attached "just under the headlight switch" ?..my fevered brain cant quite work out from the pic you provided
We presently have the worst plague of mosquitoes I have ever experienced...have to smother myself with DEET and long clothes to work on my car at all
I just had a quick look..the lower dash cover hides the suspect area..I will remove and drop it down (again), and hopefully be able to see a heavy screw into the metal dash frame
