there are a few things that need to be swapped over....I believe you will have to use the intake from your 96...because some of the sensors are in different places, because the TB is different....Someone chime in here....I know I'm leaving something out....

It will work
I have changed my 94 to a 96. the only thing that was different really was the map sensor, which on my 94 was on the fire wall but on my 96 it was on the throttle body. then you will have to figure out the vaccum lines but just follow the diagram on the fire wall for it there will be a little trail and error trust me.

If the engine was from an Auto and going into a manual then you need to remove the Flywheel from your old engine and replace the flex plate with it .... tmore or less you need to look at and sensors that could be different ... but the engine as a whole should be similar enough to get it in and running without any major issues.
