30x9.5s are a little bigger then stock but fit perfectly with no mods... That's what I run on my jeep with no problems I also recommend that tire size as well

That's how I bought the jeep, I guess there isn't a size in between? Just thinking about mpg lol I have a little rub when I max out the wheel to the left, maybe a wheel alignment will fix that?

Going to a smaller tire really will not save you a noticeable difference in gas mileage hope that makes you feel better

The 235/75R15's you have now are already bigger than stock. That's what I'm running on mine for now. And a 30" tire is only about an inch taller, you shouldnt have any difference in mpg going to 30's if you want.

Were 235/75/15 stock? Adding a taller (than stock) tire is somewhat like riding a 10 speed bicycle in a higher gear all the time......it's harder (for the rider/motor) to pedal a higher gear (taller tire).....more energy required to maintain X speed. Usually, more energy expended means less mpg.
I'm currently running 235's, stock is 215. I need new tires & I'm wondering if the wheels on now are stock or aftermarket. If they're stock, then I'm likely going to use 215's, but if aftermarket I don't know if 215's will fit.

They are stock... Your jeep is not going to ride as good on the smaller tires just a FYI... And not handle as well might even feel top heavy but good luck and what most do not realize all jeep have the same tire sticker on the door the window sticker or build sheet will tell you the tire size that your jeep actually came with
So would my VIN give that info?
Nevermind, it does. Used the site's VIN decoder to get the actual stock size. Thanks for the tip.
