96 cherokee misfire out of throttle body
i have a 96 cherokee that i bought for 500$ it needed a new trans and it only has 80,000 on the clock. 4.0l automatic. replaced the trans and cps and it fired on 2 cylinders. did plugs wires cap rotor and module and now it fires but dies 5 seconds in. the issue i am having is that i can not connect to obdII port it just keeps saying failed to connect. i have several different computers for the jeep and only one of them seems to be making it fire the best but still will not connect. i replaced fuel pump as well. every other time i try to fire the jeep it will backfire out the tb. but if i wait another 5 seconds after that it will fire run for 4 to 5 seconds then dies right out. im am running out of ideas on what to do and still cant pull codes.. somebody please give me some insight.

I have to get in on this one.A couple of years ago, while delivering mail,my Ranger,s lights quit working.I checked all the fuses. The only one out was the cigarette lighter. All the fuses for the brake, tail and turn were good.Made no sense to me at all.So while scratching my head and thinking holy crap, something expensive has broken I went ahead and replace the fuse for the cigar lighter. Then everything worked. Not that I have a clue, but if it works.....
