I am working on a 96 cherokee that I replaced the ignition switch on a while back. Since I put the switch on it has had an issue not starting sometimes when you turn the key the starter won't crank and sometimes it will. The neutral safety switch is jumped so that's not the issue. Today it started dying like you turned the key off and it won't restart. Also sometimes when you turn the key on the buzzer works and sometimes it doesn't. Could the new ignition switch be bad or could it be something else.

Yes, the new ignition switch could be bad. It could also be the connector.
What caused the prior switch to need replacing? (just asking in case it helps answer anything).
