96 Cherokee Hitch install (gas tank in the way)
Started to install the hitch on my 96 Cherokee and while lifting it up to mount I noticed the 1/2" tabs on the gas tank are in the way. What can I do here, can I just bend the tabs up or down to get them out of the way. Doesn't look like I can drop the tank and slide the hitch in as the taps will still be in the way when the tank is raised up again. Thanks in advance!

The tabs for the skid will go between the frame mounts and the frame.
Pretty sure mine doesn't have a skid plate that bolts on... I've got the two straps and under that I have a maybe 1/8" plastic piece that acts as a skid plate? Looks like the "tab" is basically where the to halves of the tank were out together and the result was a tab. I'm thinking about just taking a hammer to it.
