maybe someone can help me out I've been working on my sons jeep for a week now and cant figure out the problem. The jeep will start and then shut off right away It ran fine then sat over night when started next morning it ran real rough and backfired but would run so i have replaced MAP,IAC,TPS,ITS,CTS,injectors, fuel pump whole sending unit with regulator, fuel filter, coil, relays, intake gasket,O2 sensors upstream and down stream, new cat with flowmaster 44 distributor cap, rotor, plugs ,wires, pick up coil and ECU and flashed it i am at a total loss i have also checked timing i did get it to run fine for a 4 Mile trip i figured it was ok then sat over night and back to starting and stalling again

"The jeep will start and then shut off right away"

Whats missing fuel or spark?
What are the codes?
Why didn't you replace the CPS first?

Got a fuel pump ballast resistor on a 96?

If so, it could be your problem.

Need to determine what's missing for certain so you know which direction to go.
Pull a plug, put the wire back on, lay it on the valve cover and start the motor. When it dies 10 sec later, crank it over again and see if there's spark at the plug.

I said that exact thing Friday replacing my exhaust. Yet another bad cat.
BTW don't get a Thrush Turbo muffler. Yeah, it's cheap. Yeah, it has a really annoying drone in the cabin.

Then you probably have a a fuel delivery problem. Fuel pressure test would be the next thing to do.
