got a few questions for you guys cause i happen to be a chevy guy and iv never really played around with jeeps and i just picked up a pretty clean 2door 2wd 4.0L high output 5speed cherokee for $200bucks they thought it had a blown head gasket witch it did plus a cranked head lol my questions are

1. will eny 4.0L head interchange?

2. what kinda of gas milage can i expect?

3.what is the bigest tire size i can stuff under it at stock hight?

4. eny body no where i can get 2wd lift kits?

i know its 2wd but i have had good luck offroad in 2wd s10 blazers and this thing is about the same with alittle more ground clearence

eny other info yall can toss me would be great like what do they call the trany what rear is under it gear ratios etc

Thanx

what i would do and have always wanted to is build a streeet cherokee (dont call me gay or nothin cuz i have the 4wd offroader to) i would like to build a stroker in a 2wd, supercharge it and paint it nice leave it stock height and put some nice rims on it and some good exhaust and maybe use it for towing or something.

just what id liked to do someday.

I think a 2" bb would work with no problem. Possibly the same coils and leafs are used on both , so a 3" shouldn't be problem either.

ya id put some 17s on it and modify the engine and blow rice burners off the road
my 2door is stick but has lots of ***** evan with 3.07s and 32s im getting 4.10

first find some wj or zj rims or exploder 17s and re gear to 4.10s. then paint it candy apple green, put a system in it and tint the windows mirror tint and put on a cai, tbs,msd ignition, header and banks exaust.

All XJ's 2 or 4 wheel drive use the same lift kits, as for head you have to stay away from the Renix heads, pre-90 if I remember right. Mileage I'd say 19-26 depends on how you drive. At stock height your looking at 30's max with out rubbing and they might rub cause I be leave the 2wd sits about 1-2" lower than a stock 4wd.

Hope this helps out some..

I have a 96 2wd also. I get about 15 mpg in the city. Highway i'm not sure about. I put 30*9.5*15's on it and it really beefed it up. No rubbing at all.
