Default 95 xj brake power booster/MC

ok so on my 95 xj my brakes have been getting pretty stiff. i can pump the brakes with the jeep off till its stiff. start it and it stays stiff.. plus when pressed on brakes all the way u can hear a pretty good hissing noise. Brake power booster right? My question is you think the master cylinder is bad on the bad of the MC where they bolt on the brake booster it is leaking pretty bad.. is it just the power booster or the master cylinder as well??
Thankss!

usually if the pedal goes stiff, it's the booster.

if your pedal hits the floor with no leaks in the lines, then it's usually the M/C.

just for the sake and ease, i would just replace the whole as a unit from a junk yard donor.

There's no fluid in the booster, if you have a leak it's coming from the master cylinder.
I'd replace both as an assembly. Yes you'll have to bleed the brakes, and bench bleed the master cyl before you install it.

Before you change out your brake booster make sure that the air check valve on the booster to the intake manifold is working correctly. I had mine go bad and my brake pedal also got rock hard.
