I recently bought a 95 cherokee 4.0 xj. It ran and drove fine for the first couple weeks, then the other day i pulled up to my house, went inside to change, then came out to start my jeep and leave and it wouldnt start without pushing the gas pedal to the floor. It does this every time i start it after its warmed up. If it sits for a half hour it fires right up but if its right away i have to pump the gas pedal.. And when i drive for about a half mile it starts to idle real crappy an low and dies. Its reading code 34 but someone said it sounds like the crank position sensor? Anyone know what it could be?

Have you checked the fuel pressure with a gauge?

Strange. Code 34 is the cruise control circuit... Have you checked for vacuum leaks? The cruise control runs on vacuum and that could be a side effect of the true problem.
