I accidentally moved the 4wd handle from 2wd into 4wh on my 95 cherokee. when I moved it back to 2wd, the transmission is stuck in neutral. I can move the shifter from P, to D, to 1,2,3 N, but the transmission remains in neutral. for example i pushed the brake and shifted it to park, but the jeep just rolls. Now matter what gear i "shift" it to, the truck just rolls. I was told it could be the linkage to the transfer case. Thanks for any help

 

When you had it in 4, were you sure it was fully in 4, or might the Transfer case been in N? I'd say pop underneath and adjust the linkage and see if you can get it back into 4H or 2...
