Default 95 Cherokee Steering Damper Bracket Broke

I have a 95 Cherokee. The other day I drove over a bump and the bracket that holds the Steering Damper to the Axle Broke off. This is due to corrosion. Anyway, I google searched and found an after market bolt on bracket. Is this a good fix to the problem. My mechanic told me that the bracket was getting thin and a new bracket would need to be fabricated and welded. Looks to me like the aftermarket bracket could be a better solution. Anyone have experience with this.
Really scary when this damper is out of the circuit... The Jeep shakes uncontrollably when you hit a bump.

i have never personally used it but i have been told it is a good piece of equipment and works good but the best fix is a new bracket welded on like the stock one was

Most upgraded steering kits do not use a steering stabilizer and is not usually necessary.
