Hey guys I'm new here I got a question
94 xj 4.0, AT, 4WD
I just put a new long block in this jeep it started up ok I ran it a little bit shut it off now it wont start. I got 33 psi at the fuel rail, spark at the plugs (orange color).
It turns over and when I let the key off it tries to fire then dies.

have the earlier models got a bypass resistor in ignition/coil circuit ?

One thing to try is run 12V to coil, see if engine now starts or spark is better

33 is low and spark should be blue.
ground wires on the block.. Are they attached to bare metal or lots of new painted surfaces?
Are both wires attached securely to the fuel pump ballast resistor on the driver's side inner fender?

Cleaned all grounds I can't find a resistor on the fender well no dtc codes I checked the coil and it was within specs it seems like it wants to start when I let the key off

Perhaps your ignition switch is bad.
