94 xj broken motor mount bolts
Shifting the manual with the throttle wide open did break my passenger side bolts. With luck, the old bolts back out with fingers/pliers. However, if you drill them with a REVERSE drill bit, that may back out with that process. Or, once you have drilled them, you can use an EZ-Out or other extractor.
This is easier said than done. Good luck - this will test your craftsmanship.

Something odd.
I checked the catalogs and found that the 91-93 have different part numbers than the 94-99 (6034989) and that for the 00 & 01 the number changed to 6036176AA but the description of these bolts and the 94-99 are the same, i.e., .375-16X1.125. The 00-01 mount bracket part numbers are the same as earlier brackets (99). Go figure.
I wonder if the 00-01 bolts were made of a different material/different strength?
Edit: Looking up the bolts on a Mopar site, the part number 6034989 was not superseded by 6036176AA, so something did change with the 00-01 bolts.

If the has bolt any threads sticking out you can always weld a nut to it, let it cool & then take a wrench to it.
You can thank my Dad for that trick.

guess ill revive this. i got a 95 xj 4.0 and dealing with some bad death wobble that lead to my motor mount bracket bolts shearing off. they were recently replaced with grade 8's and they broke. so i gotta fix it to drive it anywhere. any one know what the bolt size is for them?

My question is would the bolts be differant for a 98 block in a 92? thats my current set up. i'm in the current process of fixing my death wobble, i wont still the thread. When the bolts broke i think it screwed up the tranny mount as well. Good thread made it easy to look for the problem.

bolts are oem size. just dont put grade 8 bolts in you will never get them out if you shear off motor mount. this happened to me 3 times trust me if your keepin your jeep go with upgraded mounts. itll save your rig pain down the road

yeah, i couldnt get a drill in spot to do that and without pull motor out i was able to get one out and went with aftermarket hd mount. i tried, but my idea to go to grade 8 bolts was dumb. oem bolts are 6 i think but grade 8 isnt stronger just harder which makes them more brittle and hard to drill into.
