Default '94 Jeep Cherokee wont crank.

I have been searching forums and am new to this site so I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong spot.

I drive a 1994 Jeep Cherokee 6 cylinder 2WD. I have had a problem with having to wiggle the gear shift in order for the car to start (also no reverse lights). On Monday this problem escalated into my car not starting at all. Figured immediately that it was the NSS so after bypassing that by splicing the wires, still nothing. Next tried checking the starter motor by taking it to a local auto store that checks them. It passed the test.

The car will not crank at all. The battery seems to be fine.

I have also tried jumping the car to no avail. Does anybody else have any type of suggestions to try. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

The fact that you had to wiggle the shift lever to start the Jeep before and that you had no reverse lights is CLASSIC neutral safety switch issues.

I still think you have an NSS problem. This link (at the end) includes the procedure for bypassing. Be sure that you are wired properly here.
