Another thing I noticed is that the high beams wont stay on, all I can do is flashing the high beams. What could be the problem there?

 

It's sure not a basic model...

Look at the lower part of the steering column and move the headlight lever between low and high. Observe the switch that moves on the column. That's the dimmer switch. It can be faulty or possibly adjusted.
