Any word on the solution yet? I have the same year, and the exact same problem. There is more to my story, all my wiring under the drivers side carpet shorted out and melted.. everything was working fine, then it all went to hell on me... did some diggin, found the wiring problem under the carpet... I cut and spliced and soldiered all the wires back just like factory... and now everything works, but ONLY from the driver switch....

It is like the "child lock" switch it stuck on... because NOTHING else seems to be bad now... I have checked and re-checked EVERYTHING, and that is the only thing I can think of too...

If anyone figured this out, by all means please post up!

Thanks

There are writeups on jumpering a wire behind the kick panel on the drivers side. I've also see writeups on taking the lock switch apart and cleaning the contacts. Sorry I don't have the links to either writeup but should come up with a search (that's how I found them). That all being said, if you don't mind a temp fix, you can try this...
Have your passenger hold down their switch to put the window down. While they are doing that, repeatedly press the lock switch on & off until their switch works. This has worked in multiple Jeeps that I know of. It seems to work in mine for a few weeks at a time. It's been about a month since I last had to do it.
