93 xj starting problem
hi i am new to this forum but i hope i can get some help, i have a 93 cherokee 4.0l when i go to start it i can turn the key forward and it will crank over but will not start if i continue to cycle the key forward and back for sometimes 2 or 3 times and others 5 minutes the fuel gauge and other warning lights will kick on along with the fuel pump and then i can start it .. what is causing this i thought it was the ignition switch so i replaced it but still no luck

my 93 did this.. I did a compression check and found it to have bad compression in #1 cyl.. i sold it.. but it would always start if you gave it a lil bit of gas on the FIRST cold start.. If i started it w/o giving it gas it would idle then stall and not start back up.. just give the jeep a lil bit of gas when starting it... compression COULD be a issue..
