Default 93 XJ 4.0 losing oil rapidly

I have a 93 Cherokee with a 4.0. Recently I replaced the 3 O rings on the oil filter adapter. They were definitely leaking, and I thought I had solved my problem for such a "rapid" loss of oil. I had done an oil change at the time of replacing those rings, and now its been a week. I just checked my oil and now I'm right below the safe area on the dipstick. I have noticed a decent amount of smoke coming out of my pipe at it's operating temp. The smoke is white, as if it was cold outside. But I'm a new englander, and its 80 degree weather. I only have 78,000 miles.

White smoke is antifreeze, black smoke is oil.

white smoke when cold is from the water deposits in the exhaust pipe being burnt off.

I understand that, but in the original post it was said there is a decent amount of white smoke at operating temp on a warm day. The condensate in the exhaust will eventually burn off.

Any parts smeared with oil when you look underneath? does it leave spots on the ground when parked?

If nothing is leaking out externally then you have to start looking at internal engine wear as the cause.

i just replaced the 3 o rings in the oil filter adapter. that was a problem of my oil loss for a while. since then, there have been no spots..and no oil dripping onto any parts underneath. but yet, im still adding a quart a week.
