'93 heat/AC and other issues
so i got this '93 grand cherokee, and it has tons of issues. it sat for some time and had a jack-russel tarrier pup living inside for a while... did a wonder to the seats. anyways, the temp gague doesent get above 150. which im almost POSITIVE isnt right. and it blows no heat at all, bone cold. the radiator is full of rust, so i flushed it and the radiator and heater core a few times. to me if it wasnt geting water the heat would go up, but it doesent go above 150 for nothing, even hard acceleration and freeway miles, which makes me think that all the rust has stuck the thermostat open. but while flushing the radiator, with the upper hose off, water/rust would only come out after it ran for a while and got warm.
also it has a "new" (junk yard) compressor and doesnt hold refrigerant. the condenser/dryer is covered in surface rust, could this be problematic? i was told that after the "new" compressor was put in and filled, a puddle of coolant was found. where? i have no idea, because the jeep isnt mine.
also the key got stuck in the ignition, like the car isnt in park. to get the key out i have to remove the lock cylinder and pull the key out and place the cylinder back in (being sure not to drop those blasted tumblers) i think i probably need to adjust the park safety switch because i also had to replace the gear shift lever because it was chewed to hell. it also leaks oil from somewhere, and herd that the 318 does that at high mileage. any other places that it could potentially be leaking from and how do i tell where its coming from?
it also lopes when it idles (once its warm i believe)
and anyone got door linkage diagrams for all four doors?
AND the switch for the right rear window doesent work at the drivers seat but works at its own seat. could this be just a bad "switch" at the drivers panel, or could it be wiring issues?
yes, it has A LOT of problems, but im fixing it up to get ready to sell.
thanks for the patience for reading my novel on this Jeep's problems, but i DO love jeeps and the 318 it has
