Thank you in advance for any help! I am at my wits end with my friends 93 Cherokee. Hood up, runs like a top, hood down, sputters, stalls, won't stay running unless you keep your foot on the gas. I have checked for anything possibly grounding against the hood, have even taken the hood off, push the hinges down, it dies. Took the cowl apart, nothing visible grounding or touching. I'm starting to think this Cherokee is possessed by the devil! Myself I have a 96 Country and it has it's own quirks and bugs but this 93 is freakin me out!

Were you able to narrow it down to one hinge? It's got to be a grounding issue, or it's hitting a wire.
