92 xj no start

Angry 92 xj no start

my xj ran then shut it off and wouldt restart/found no voltage at coil connector/changed crank switch /ign switch still nothing/changed computer still nothing.disconnected battery cable to charge battery came back next day hooked up battery tried it one more time and it started and ran for 30=40seconds and died/again no spark.have tried this six times and each time it starts then dies..............please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would put my money on the CPS, you may want to look into replacing that. are any codes present?

He said he charged the battery and then it started and ran for short. That would make me believe it's the battery. Take it to autozone and have them test it for you. Never hurts to check it out.

My buddy with a YJ had a similar problem. His alternator fried so it was running off the battery and drained it quickly. it would start and then die as soon as the battery didn't have enough juice.

good point, go get your whole electrical system checked autozone does it for free.

start with battery then move to your alt and see what they say.

seems like he is saying it still cranks, just has no spark. so the battery is indeed good. a bad battery will not provide enough power for it to crank over long before it doesnt have enough power to produce a spark.

i have started on a very near dead battery which in turn didnt run for more then 10 seconds without me applying gas.
