Hey peeps! So I'm just wondering if the axle shafts out of a 91 tj d30 front will match up to my 98 xj. I'm googling the hell out of it.

 

you won't find that answer.
the tj didn't start production until 97.

if you're talking about a 91 YJ, then no, the shafts won't work. they have the smaller u-joints and the passenger shaft is the split disconnect shaft.

but if you look for 97-06 TJ shafts, they should fit perfectly. and all has the larger 297 joints.

Thanks for the lesson, I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to the yj/tj world.
I fell asleep on the couch looking for the answer would help if I knew my stuff.

YJ gears will fit the XJ though, since they're both high-pinion. A lot of 4 cyl YJs out there so a nice source for 4.10s.

91-95 XJs with ABS also had the stronger 297x U joints and no two-part shafts, of course 96+ XJs and any TJ/LJ if you can find em.
