'91 Laredo brake problems
My '91 Laredo has the ABS system with its matching master cylinder. Is it possible to remove the master cylinder and ABS system....and put old style master cylinder on?
The master cylinder is leaking, and I can't get parts for the ABS system so want to see if I can replace it with the old style.
All suggestions welcome...help! ~Ross

Master cylinders are the same regardless if the Jeep came with ABS or not, when you replace an MC you need a scan tool to cycle the ABS pump to bleed the brakes, If you remove the ABS pump, you have to replace the brake lines, Dorman makes a pre-bent stainless steel kit, I just removed my ABS pump and installed ss brake lines on my '99

Yes, it’s possible. You need a non-ABS master cylinder, a proportioning valve from a non-ABS XJ, and you’ll have to reroute or cap some lines. The ABS pump can be removed. No wiring changes needed if you just pull the ABS fuse and leave the module. Common swap.
