Default 91 jeep Cherokee won't start

OK so I have had the battery, alternator, starter tested. All tested fine. Replaced the battery cables. And it still does nothing when you try and start it. Any ideas? I'm at a lost. It has the straight 6cyl motor.

Need more details. Is it cranking but not starting? Or you get nothing when turning the key?Have you tried starting it in neutral? If your jeep is auto and it starts in neutral but not in park check your nss it may be dirty and not making contact this will cause the jeep to not start. Could be other things like ignition switch.

Sorry, no it doesn't crank over it does absolutely nothing. It won't start in neutral either. Haven't thought about the ignition switch .

Wiggle the shifter back and forth with the key forward then try multiple times to start in neutral and park. I would clean the nss anyway it's easy there's a walk through on YouTube by bleep n jeep on how to do that. If that doesn't work I would do the ignition switch to add to the process of elimination

Since you get nothing, disconnect the NSS and use a small piece of wire to jumper the pins shown below on the engine harness

If the engine cranks over with the bypass jumper installed, problem is the NSS. Otherwise its somewhere else on the line, eg ignition switch, starter relay, etc
