my 91 jeep is stuck in 4wd and wont come out. the trams button is stuck on power and wont go to comfort?? any ideas??

 

Linkage jammed, packed with debris maybe.

 

any ideas how to get it into 2wd??

 

Crawl under the rig and find out why its not shifting. I don't know what TC you have so I can't tell you much more. for the power switch is the button working or is the setting not changing. You have 2 seperate issues going here.

 

have you tried driving slowly backward while moving to 2wd (slowly, as in just a bit faster than idle), then drive forward slowly for a while before accelerating?

 

Isn't that a vacuum actuated system with a vacuum motor on the front axle? Maybe a vacuum line/connection or the vac motor diaphragm is compromised?

 

i had that issue i was like 50 miles from home camping when it happened i just pulled the vacum line off it went out of 4wd the light stayed on but ran fine try that for now
