i found a 91 2 door HO with a 5 speed for $300. the only bad thing about it that i know of is the fact that both fuse boxes are melted. the question i have is would it be worth buying to swap the motor and tranny into my 90 cherokee that has the renix and aw4? the motor in the 91 was just rebuilt before the fuse blocks melted. if it would be worth it what all would i need to get off the 91 to make it work in mine? i could posibbly talk the guy down to about $100- $200. my motor has a freeze plug rusted out and needs the main bearings replaced soon and the aw4 got messed up from the jeep breaking down and getting towed with just the tranny in neutral and not the transfercase too. both jeeps are 4x4. any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it wouldn't run right, if at all, if you were using the Renix computer from an auto with a HO motor from a 5 speed. You need to use the computer from the HO 5 speed.

the renix computer doesn't know what tranny is on the engine. thats why they have a double TPS. if you use the long block only it should work just fine. and for 300 bucks i would get just to part it out.

you have a good deal there you could part that jeep out for around $1000, what has happened is the slave cylinder leaked all over the fuse block, put on a new slave cylinder and a fuse block and your good to go.

would this have caused the fuse block inside to burn up to or possibly something else?
