88 cherokee aw4, slow acceleration
I have a 88 cherokee 4wd, 300k. Rebuilt AW4 transmission 2k miles ago. The shift cable kept comming off the linkage at the transmission, so I bought a new one and replaced it. Lower the streering columb, lower the brake pedal bracket, loosen the power brake booster, remove old cable. Install new cable, button everyting back up, adjust cable lenth for proper shift PRNod321. Alls good except, when I put it into drive it feels like the trans is slipping, BAD. I can manually shift it no problem, and I didn't have any problems before the cable swap. I looked for any vacuum leaks, and it looks like all the cables and wireing harnesses are plugged in. I'm just really puzzled. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Dave
