90 xj rear dif

Default 90 xj rear dif

I got a Chrysler 8.25 and the check plug is just a rubber plug not even threads on the dif its self, should i silicone around the outer lip on the plug so no water can get in? this plug is from the factory never scene a plug on a dif though

no just pop it out and pop it in, if in good condition it should be fine

Mine has been in CO for its 14 year life. If that doesn't make it dryrot, nothing will. As long as it doesn't leak and isn't cracked, its just fine.

I hate those rubber plugs and want to punch whoever decided to use those. Stupid thing is leaking all over my newly painted axle
