It might be that if you hold your foot on the brake, then shift from forward to reverse, over and over, that might make the auto adjuster actually work. Could be it needs the brakes applied while going backwards to "get a bite" on the next tooth. I'm not sure there, but at least once it seemed to bring my pedal up some.

Self adjusters rarely work as designed. I don't care what you do.
The tried self adjusting slack adjusters on big trucks and I always find them off quite a bit.

Try it, think about it. If the shoes and the lever are locked on the drum, you have just a little forward/back. There is no solid pin, just the slave on the top and the wheel/adjuster on the bottom. I think that small bit might be "it", for the adjuster lever to grab a new tooth. I almost started a new thread on the idea!

I'll stick to adjusting them manually. Too much room for error with the self adjusters anyway. And, these are brakes we're dealing with, on a vehicle that has pretty ****-poor ones to begin with.
I can adjust a set of brakes about as quick as you can test a CPS....

Hey guys I'm still having problems with my breaking system.. I have changed the fluid, bled the system using the two person method several times.
Fluid doesn't seem to be leaking ,pressure is not all that great half the time. Can't seem to flush all the dirty fluid keeps coming back to the master murky black. Should I just keep flushing the system ?? Any suggestions ? Thanks !

Brakes, not breaks, as someone noted before.
You have to keep flushing until fluid is clear. I don't know if flexible lines deteriorating from the inside can cause dark fluid? Someone will know.
What do you mean by "pressure is not all that great"?
What exactly is your problem other than fluid color and "pressure"?

Sorry for the type err , my brakes aren't locking up at all . I can hear the rear drums engage when I hit the pedal. Can't seem to get pressure to the lines no matter how many times bleed the master .
