If it has no spark but has 12v then it has to be the box under the coil. It's rare that coils go bad.

OK if all the things you list tested out good then the ECM plug should be cleaned and if it is clean and you are sure of it's integrity then the ECU may be faulty. I have never seen but one that was bad and it was due to welding without disconnecting the battery.

I would say the Ignition control module would be the first thing I'd check next. Its the box that houses the Ignition coil and if that goes bad then no signal can get to the Coil. Is it turning over but not starting? like no spark at all?

Correct me if I am wrong Blue. But if I have power to the tps, ignition module, fuel pump, etc Wouldnt that mean the comp is working.

Yes the icm has power, and a good ground. The spark plug wires will not get spark if the coil isnt sparking. I have 3.5 volts to the cps. I have 12 volts to the icm/coil. about the 2nd or 3rd post I believe. Also did you check to make sure the CPS didnt come lose off the bell housing?

I have checked the resistance on the CPS. It was at 215 Ohms cold. And yes the CPS is tight.Originally Posted by zman32006

oh and one more thing. I know we have fixed timing but if a tooth on that gear broke the chain could slip, put it to top dead center and take the distributor cap off and the rotor should be pointing at either the number one spark plug wire or the number 6 depending if your on the compression cycle or the exhaust cycle.
