Default 90 MJ valve cover upgrades?

Is there any benefit to changing the valve cover on a 90MJ 4.0 to something newer- say a 96? I know theat the 90 is renix, and the 96 isn't. I wasn't sure how much if any the fuel system relys on that goofy crank case vent hose that goes into the air box.
Has anyone ever done this?

The ccv allows moisture to escape out of the block that the oil creates.

It can be adapted, but I don't see any point in it. Just keep the hoses in good shape.
