90 cherokke cranks but wont start

Default 90 cherokke cranks but wont start

my 90 cherokee laredo 4.0 cranks but wont start. the coils good but i seem to have no spark. the fuel pump is good. it doesn't even attempt to start. what could it be.

you say your coil is good but have no spark? do you have spark coming from the coil? or just no spark at all?

if you pull a spark plug and lay it on the block (while hooked up, dont hold it) do you get a spark?

i tested the coil like my haynes book told me to do and it did what it should. when i pull a spark plug and and try to make it spark off the block it wont

so you were able to verify that the crankshaft positioning sensor is working?

ballast resistor is a white ceramic thing mounted on the drivers side inner fender with a wire on each end. mounted with one bolt in the center.

not sure, i never test them. new part is only about 8 bux. free from a wrecker.

i usually carry spares. learned that from my old mopar days.

i put a spark plug on the end of my coil wire and cranked it and it had no spark. does this mean my coil is bad
