90 cherokee weak reverse....help!!!!

90 cherokee weak reverse....help!!!!

my reverse seems to be so weak (like its slipping), but all gears work fine. the weird thing is its normal when i am in 4L. has anyone else had this issue?

i have changed the transmission fluid and the transfer case fluid already but still the same.

Twice I've heard of loose or missing engine to bell-housing bolts causing trouble in reverse. No idea if that's your issue but you might want to check. Good luck! D.
