Booger is my new CPS tested .4 right off then .5 the next time I checked it. Heck, I'll go do it right now, but I'm barefoot and it's gravel.

You guys are great i really appreciate you hanging with me on this. Since i replaced the injector and have #6 firing there is no change in the plugs still black. I havent run it a whole lot since. I keep going back to why it quit in the first place i had it towed home and got it running by changing the fuel pump relay and its never run right since. I was wondering if maybe my new oxygen sensor is carboned up from # 6 not firing and needing cleaning. Thanks for the photo of the mat sensor i will definately pull mine and clean it i did check the resistance and it was right. The ac output on my cps was .4 and not .5 this is new BTW from advance auto parts, my old one was still working because i got no change from replacing it. No better no worse
All these things that i have done i am glad i did even though none have fixed my problem none of the sensors have ever been replaced, but i keep thinking of when it stopped, took out the fuel pump relay, that keeps bugging me, i have cleaned the throttle body with it running with throttle body cleaner but maybe i should pull it and make sure its good and clean. But before i do that i am going to go back and check the compression on each cylinder because it really acts like an engine problem it has a gassy odor at the exhaust no white smoke like blown head gasket but it also has a pop pop type sound at the exhaust like a burnt valve or something but no black smoke like you would expect to see from a flooding engine. I would still like to check the timing just to make sure if anyone knows how to do that i cant even find a timing mark or even get to where i could see it if i had a light pointed at the scale. There is got to be a way to check it statically.

There are better MAP tests I think, (I haven't done it). http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...iagnostics.htm I think you might need an old alolougue meter with a needle to actually check the function of the map.
There is just no adjusting the timing on these. (short of a modified CPS) You can unplug the wiring to the cam sensor in the dizy and it will run fine.
On the renix the 02 sensor's 5v "sensor" wire is just a variable resistor to ground. When I finally got atound to checking mine it was "open", hadn't been working for a long time. Didn't matter if it was connected or not. RAN FINE. To diagnose your problem you might just un-plug it for now and make sure none of it's wires are touching or grounding.
One of my first jobs on a Jeep was to fix the "leaking injectors" They were $80 each then. After changing O rings on some, more were leaking. Those original injectors are just crap. Did somebody change yours to something that might have you running rich? IIRC the original's have a metal body, do yours?

I just came in from doing a few tests compression is 120 in each cylinder. I them started pulling plug wires and got to number 4 and no change so i changed the wire still no change so i then pulled the injector plug off injector #4 so i think # 4 is not firing. I dont know how i missed that. I checked them all when i pulled the fuel rail. I need new injectors. Do you know any thing about borg warner injectors,. I am also wondering if i should go ahead and pull the tank and clean it out before i put on new injectors. I am looking at some borg warners on clearance are they any good,

I can be pretty lazy sometimes myself. If my filter wasn't getting clogged up I wouldn't be in any hurry to pull my tank. Hey, a thought though, you might run some fuel into a container and check for water.
You can find Programbo here + more>> https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/10-...bility-108854/

I've got Ford yellows in my renix. Really happy with the results. The fuel rail disconnect seals on mine were toast, so I just took the best one and matched it up at an industrial seal shop. I didn't get the refresh kit. I just put them back on the male ends of the connectors, lubed them up with Parker o-lube and was on my merry way...

So Hank, they plugged right in? (connectors matched?) Someone posted the 02 sensor could keep it down to the 14.7 to one, if it was within 10% (DON'T SAVE THAT. I'M NOT POSITIVE!) What I mean is the flow. 18.6 lbs/hr.., the 02 might bring that down OK. Booger is, 10% is less than two pounds. 22, or 24 would be allot. Just learning myself. I don't get why, the o2 wouldn't just go ahead and deal with it if it was a little over it's intended range. Funny we are here! Guess Renix is between "death by automatic choke", "take a hike dude, we are just doing it".
I intend to get it perfect before I hit 300,000 miles, (about 12 times around the rock we live on), and it crumbles to dust. At that point, I'll need to figure out what to do with that nice stainless steel rack in the driveway.

Is sounds like your o2 sensor or wiring might be in the open loop and if so can dump a lot of fuel to your engine ,that would account for the black plugs, then your cat would burn the rest off leaving the tail pipe looking ok ,,the 703s are great don't think twice about putting them in one of the BEST things I put in period ..
