89 yj trans for my xj?
Just curious. I saw someone selling a bunch of Jeep parts on craigslist. One item was the manual 5 speed trans from a 1989 YJ would that work in my XJ?

Yes.. but....
The shifter assembly is different, so you would need to use a Cherokee or Comanche shifter to make it work. Also the T-case clocks differently on the YJ, so you will have to do a bit of custom work on the T-case shifter to make it work.

Ohh, sounds like a pain especially since I don't have any fabrication skills or tools.
Maybe I can use some of the other parts?
