89 XJ won't start.
Hey guys, got an 89 Cherokee that would start. Went off roading yesterday this morning I went to start it and all its doing is making a loud whirring noise. The belts don't turn at all. Tried jumping the battery and it did nothing. Any ideas? Battery guage was pretty low last night.

Yup.
That whirring sound is the starter motor spinning, but it's not engaging the engine.
