I have been having terrible problems with the internal slave cylinder on my 91 YJ. I want to convert it to external, but I'm not sure of everything I need to make the change.

Can anyone help?

I did this conversion​ on my '93 XJ last summer. It was difficult but well worth it. I found this article helpful:

It doesn't list the part numbers but it gives a good overview of the work involved. I spent a lot of time researching the right part numbers and finding the best deals. You'll need a different bellhousing. I don't have any junkyards near me so I bought mine on eBay.

I don't have the part numbers handy but I'll see if I have them saved anywhere if you're interested. Keep in mind, I did this on an XJ. I would assume that everything would be the same on a YJ, but you know what they say about assuming...
