Question 89 xj 4.0l renix purple wire???

Hey guys as the title reads I have a 89 xj 4.0l and im trying to figure out what this loose purple wire I have in my engine loom right over the intake manifold next to the injectors goes to or did at some point in time its def. clipped off and there are no signs to where it could have gone. Any help is appreciated ill try to post a picture once it stops pouring outside, Thanks

Generally for the temp sending unit. Driver side rear of the head.

Spot on dude that's what it is I cant believe I didn't put two and two together, There is a actual temp gauge wired in instead and they cut out the idiot light. Thanks cruiser54 love your website lots of great info!
