Default 89' radio/speaker problems

hello all, im new here and have recently found an 89' cherokee pioneer. well the radio and/or speakers wont turn on so could anyone tell me what some common problems i should look for to fix it or just go with replacing it all? thanx

IMO if its stock stuff, its old, and needs to go. Its been in your vehicle for 20+ years, so most of its probably blown. Id replace it with new stuff and call it good. Also, most of the stuff you can buy nowadays will sound 100 times better than stock, so you'll be happier lol. But, its your choice if you want to try and hunt down problems and try to fix them.
