89 jeep runs great however, looses power
I have a 89 cherokee two door automatic 4.0 4x4. It seems to run very well at times, however, sometimes on startup or when your driving it will loose power and start to sputter and pop. when this is happening I unplug the idle air flow sensor (if thats the name) and the idle will race untill I plug it back in then it idles great and runs good again, seems to happen more when its hot outside. any answers to this? they said they replaced the tps is this a egr or crank sensor problem?

Sounds like you are on the right track. Pull that IAC sensor out and clean it up. U can also clean up the throttle body while you are there.
If you still have problems then CPS can cause some weird start issues. And tps will also cause you throttle nighares
