89 Cherokee tranny, help!!!

So I purchased a 89 jeep Cherokee 4x4 5speed the other day and the tranny is bad. I was just wondering what all year jeep trannys would fit into mine? It's 4.0 btw.

I'd stick in the renix era for a tranny swap. Don't know too much about the 5 speeds though :/

That's what I was figuring but it would still be nice to know all the years just in case I can't get ahold of one in my era lol

ba/10 most common ax 15 came in at end of year production renix has differen size pilot bearings and tc spline count be aware.

Ok yea that was another concern of mine. I appreciate the info. I only paid 600 for my xj just as a daily beater/toy but its actually pretty soild other than the tranny
