I did a short run around the neighborhood yesterday and it seems to be working fine at this point. It's a 15 mile drive to get to an area out of the mountains here where I can up to 55 MPH so that test will have to wait until my drive to work on Monday morning. I did adjust the TV cable on Friday. It was about 3 clicks out and after the reset it's now one click out which has made the uphill shifting tons better. I have lots of time today so for the hell of it I will check the wires at the trannny and will also do the sensor ground test as well just to be sure. It's kinda funny because after all this work this little thing will actually do a burn out now on my cement driveway. It wouldn't do it before. It's got a neighbor of mine wondering whats going on with his 98' Grand. His 4.0 is a dog compared to my little 89'. LOL
I'll report back after I work on it today......

Just did the sensor ground test and came up with 1.4 for the reading. No change in that number when moving all the suggested harness and such up top. I'm gonna see if I have any more connectors left and see if I can solder the four together into one clean one at the dipstick tube and see if that gets the number down some along with getting underneath by the tranny and checking those wires out.
I'll be back.......

RE the P/C switch. Do you notice a difference in the different modes?
The reason I ask is I've seen the light come on in Power mode, but the switch is bad internally and sends no signal to the TCU.
Here's how to make sure that ain't happening.
Bypassing the Power/Comfort Switch on a Renix Jeep
Remove and unplug the switch. In the harness are 3 wires One has a stripe, one is tan, and the other black. Make a 4" jumper wire with a male spade at each end. Plug one end in the cavity for the tan wire and the other in the cavity for the striped wire and you'll be in permanent Power mode. Stuff the harness back in and reinstall the switch for looks.

Excellent plan.

Ok brought the laptop out in the garage with me to make this easier. I just did the switch mod for the tranny so we can eliminate the switch out the whole equation now as well.
Also gave me the chance to clean up the cig lighter plug so my cell phone charger works better.

Correct, all clean under the hood, TCU and new fuse as well. I just soldered all four grounds at the dipstick to a chunk of 8 AWG and remounted them. Reading is now .8 so I got it down from the 1.4. Just for the hell of it I check the TPS input voltage again and it's still at 4.6 volts so I'll leave that alone.

Ok I think we are GOLDEN! I had to run to the store for some beer and I was able to take the long way which has a 5 mile stretch of flat road where I was able to get it up to speed with the tranny in OD and no fluctuation like before and there seems to be ton more power at hand. It gets up and goes pretty damn good for a 6 banger. I drove a 93' full size Blazer with a balanced and blue printed small block before this for two years and it went like a raped ape so when I say this goes pretty good it goes pretty good.
Onto the next item.....
