Hi there, new to the Jeep world here! Just bought an 89 Cherokee and noticed some difficulty with the door locks. It HAS power door locks, it's just I hit the lock switch, and I can hear the motor actuating but it seems weak, I locked it manually and it took a lot of fighting. What I'm really concerned about was I shut the door locked, put my key in the door, and the lock tumbler turned like it normally should, but didn't do anything? Some help would be appreciated!

Remove door panel look and feel inside behind the door latch and find where the lock cylinder is located. See or feel if there is a rod connecting the two. There are about four rods you'll be looking for one that is about 8-10" give or take a few. The connectors are plastic and pretty fragile, or in my case somehow just got disconnected so be gentle if they are sill good. Check to see if connected to both door latch and locking cylinder.
P.s. Might wanna be careful when removing the liner behind the panel not to rip it also keep the windows rolled up to have access

Lubrication also helps. My inside manual door locks froze up in the sub zero weather. The liberal use of a good silicon spray lube after thawing then out fixed that problem.
