Default '89 Cherokee brake issues

Ok So I found an '89 cherokee in good shape except for the brakes.

Owner says the brake light came on and he was told that he would need a Bendix 9 Accumulator and/or pump for the brake system.

I did some research and found that maybe you could remove the abs fuse and be good to go. Anyone have any idea if that would work and maybe how much it might be to fix, and if its something I could do on my own, I'm not exactly experienced but I'm not stupid.

I'm just wondering if anyone could help me out, this would be my first Jeep and I'm pretty pumped to be getting one.

removing the fuse won't help you. if you remove it it'll shut the system down and thats what gives you your power assist. i have the same system with problems, i'm replacing the abs system with a standard power booster and m/c. parts are cheap used, i got a booster,m/c and porportioining valve for $50 of ebay.-andrew

From what I've read online that doesn't seem to work, or is pretty labor intensive. Could you maybe send me an email and explain a bit more or give me some reference ?

Thanks

Alright thanks guys, I'm wondering how hard this would be to do and how much it might cost to do?

Thanks.
