Default 89 cherokee 4.0 gauges stopped working when jeeps stalls out??

Well I was driving home last night and my jeep dies..started it back up no problem then I notice none of my gauges are working except the speedo. The coolant temp is way past the red gas gauge went all the way to full and the battery volts was at zero and the tach did not move and oil pressure is at zero....anything I can try?? And I have never had a jeep before?? Any ideas would help at this point??

This kind of happens in my 97. I'll be driving down the road and the gauges will just ALL drop to nothing. Just for a moment. It wont spudder when I'm going... but when I start out sometimes it will.

Take it to an auto parts store that can check your alternator and battery. That is where I would start. After that I would maybe pull some codes.

In my 89 the 5 fuse in the top right is melted/rusted/corroded. Whatever you want to call it. Its seen it all. Not the fuse itself but the part the fuse sticks in to, the fuse block. So when i hit bumps the fuse gets loose and the gauges stop working, push it back in and im good to go. I would start with that myself, its free and easy to check.
