Default 89 brake job

Doing a rear brake job on mine, well handing my brother the tools and advise. We disconnected the emergency brake cables cut them off. Should I seal off the holes also, thinking I should. Maybe I answered my own questions. That's why the rubber plugs are for, on the brake adj holes to keep junk out. They don't call me a Finnish genius for the hell of it. Ken U

Why did you cut the brake cables off?

Don't use them ever on my 4-wheel drive , disconnected on my 2004 Gmc also. Most people in the UP do the same.

Cutting the cables works a lot better than cutting the brake lines. I can still stop and eliminates 1 problem,

freezing up from rust and non-use. Ice freeze is my only worry now with sloppy cold weather.
